Seneca Lake State Park overlooks blue water, creating a relaxing experience for swimmers and picnickers. Children will be especially delighted with our Sprayground and Playground facilities. The Sprayground is the first of its kind built in the New York State Parks system offering a safe water-play area with over 100 water jets that spontaneously spray water. Neighboring the Sprayground is the playground with equipment for children ages 4-12. This park also offers 2 excellent marinas, with a total of 132 electric slips and 84 non-electric slips. Transient slips available at both marinas.
Swimming
1. Seneca Lake State Park offers two guarded swimming beaches for visitors.
2. The park's East Beach is a popular spot with lifeguards on duty during summer months.
3. West Beach also provides safe, supervised swimming areas and changing facilities.
4. Swimming hours are typically from 11 am to 7 pm but may vary depending upon weather conditions or staffing levels.
5. No pets are allowed at the beach area ensuring cleanliness of the water bodies for swimmers' safety and hygiene purposes.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch available, allowing individuals to bring their own watercrafts such as motorboats, canoes or kayaks. For those who prefer not to bring their own equipment, paddleboat rentals are also offered within the park itself. Fishing boats may be used in designated areas and fishing licenses are required.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a beautiful setting, with options for shore and boat angling. Species include Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch and Lake Trout. The park also offers ice fishing during winter months.

Location
Seneca Lake State Park is located near Geneva, Newark and Penn Yan

Picnicking
Seneca Lake State Park offers picnic tables, grills and pavilions for rent. Enjoy scenic views while eating outdoors.
Bicycling
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a 2.3-mile bike trail, but be aware it's shared with pedestrians and rollerbladers. The path is paved and mostly flat which makes for easy riding; however, stay alert as there are some blind corners.

For those seeking more of an adventure, the surrounding area offers several challenging road cycling routes that take you through scenic vineyards and farmland - remember to wear your helmet!

While biking at night isn't recommended due to limited lighting on trails. Always check weather conditions before heading out too.

Bike rentals aren't available onsite so bring your own or rent from nearby facilities in Geneva city center.
Birding
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 200 species recorded. It's ideal for spotting waterfowl and shorebirds. Raptors, warblers, and sparrows are also common sightings during migration seasons. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats including wetlands, forests, grasslands and the lake itself.

park review stars; one to five the Sprayground is a great way to keep kids of many ages busy and active. Park runs along the northern side of the lake, which is great for riding a bike or taking a walk. The view of the lake is excellent.
June 14 Kid Friendly by Mrs. Carnicelli
park review stars; one to five I have 6 kids and they all LOVE the spraypark, plus you can bring outdoor activites and play near one of the grassy areas. My only complaint is the beach is gross and they should have spray park open later than 6 for those who work till 5 or later. Overall I go all summer and love it!!
