Captree State Park lies at the eastern tip of Jones Beach Island in the heart of the fishing grounds. Captree is a fisherman's haven and a picnicker's delight. The park features a boat basin with open and charter boats available for fishing, as well as scuba diving, sightseeing and excursion boats.

Fishing

Located on Long Island's south shore, it offers pier and boat fishing. Species include fluke, striped bass, bluefish and weakfish.

Boat rentals are available for deep-sea excursions targeting larger species like tuna or shark.

Fishing tournaments occur throughout the year with prizes awarded to those who catch the largest fish of specific types.

Anglers can also enjoy night fishing under lights from piers that stay open 24 hours a day during peak season.
