Throughout the warm months highs here at Heart Bar Campground get into the 90's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 60's; winter nights come with lows in the 40's to Heart Bar Campground. This is such a scenic campground. You can never get enough of the nice skiing at Snow Valley, and Shandin Hills Golf Club is a good golf course close by.There are so many fun things to do close to Heart Bar Campground, and it's always fun to be at this campground. There are plenty of folks from Loma Linda here at Heart Bar Campground, and going for a hike on the McKinley Firebreak is always a delightful adventure. The pleasant people working here and a magnificent variety of entertaining things are in themselves reason enough to come here.It is very dried out here at Heart Bar Campgroundordinarily; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Among the things you can do in the neighborhood of Heart Bar Campground are swimming, playing golf, fishing, and hiking, so most likely you want to stay a while. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do close to Heart Bar Campground. History of the Area
Located in the San Bernardino Mountains, this park was established around 1960. It's named after a cattle brand used by early ranchers. The area is known for its diverse wildlife and vegetation.

The Heart Bar Campground within it offers camping facilities to visitors year-round. In addition to campsites, there are also equestrian sites available due to the popularity of horseback riding here.

Efforts have been made towards forest restoration following damage from bark beetle infestations and wildfires.

Directions
- Start from San Bernardino, California.
- Head northwest on N D St toward W 6th St.
- Turn right at the first cross street onto W 5th St.
- Continue straight to stay on I Street for about a mile and half.
- Merge with CA -210 E via ramp towards Redlands: follow signs carefully.
-Take exit 81 for State Hwy 330 N/Highland Ave/Mountain Resorts: keep left at fork in road.

Driving up Mountain:

- Follow Highway Route CA -330 Northbound approximately twenty miles until you reach Running Springs area
- At traffic circle take second exit continuing onto Hilltop Blvd (CA-18).

Entering Big Bear Lake Area:

- Stay on this route which eventually becomes Big Bear Boulevard after around eighteen miles of driving uphill

Reaching Heart Bar Campground:

- After passing through town center turn right into Green Way Drive
- Take another immediate right into Summit Boulevard followed by an instant left back onto Big bear boulevard again

Final Stretch:

- Proceed down highway till reaching Moonridge Road where you will make a sharp Right hand turn,
continue along this stretch before turning Left unto Mill Creek Road also known as Forest Rte IN02

Arriving Destination:

- Keep going straight ahead following signage leading directly to Heart Bar state park campground entrance
