Area Attractions
Be sure to ride the trolley on a historic tour of Manistee; there is no better way to become acquainted with the city and to learn a little about its unique history. Manistee was a lumbering town and has preserved the Victorian atmosphere with its Victorian Village shopping district and lumbermen's homes. The harbor has two piers where fishing is good all year long. Two excellent beaches flank the harbor, along with playgrounds, picnic facilities, public restrooms and concessions. Fishing in Lake Michigan and Manistee Lake is terrific year round. During August and September, fishing reaches a feverish pitch as coho and chinook salmon come in for their spawning run. Later in the year, steelhead make their fall run. Charter boats, dock rental and good launching facilities all are available.

Visitor Comments, Memories and Reviews
May 28 Great views with friendly people by towya88
park review stars; one to five Great place to camp. Awesome views and friendly rangers. We were there in October and they had trick or treating for everyone and had a nice hot dog roast with cider and donuts. The host and rangers put it all on and even went to the store for more hot dogs and stuff when they ran out. They made it a great stay and felt like a big family camping that weekend!!Highly recommended
January 23 Beautiful Bluffs by Heather
park review stars; one to five On august 25, 2007 my husband and me got married at the pavilion. Very nice views and the pavilion was clean and an unbeatable price for the occasion. Kids and adults were able to enjoy the beach access. Beautiful sunsets. Wonderful memories!
January 11 Great camp for a reunion by Diane
park review stars; one to five Lots of empty camp sites during the week. Clean park. Beautiful scenery. Lots of stairs to beach if caring kids or chairs and blankets. Lake is full of rocks. Bring water shoes. We drove to another beach to swim.
