March 25 Perfect Getaway by Ronda_N
park review stars; one to five My Dog and I were traveling from Austin, Texas to Provo, Utah. After our first 10 hours, we were exhausted, and restless. I was looking for a rest stop along the way to hopefully catch a few hours sleep.....and that is when I saw the sign for Sumner Lake ... a mear 6 miles off the main highway So, we went to take a look. I am so glad that I did. What a beautiful place. nestles in the Mexico terrain. I would have never know it was there with everything a girl and her dog ever need. sandy beach and lake My dog and I were in heaven. I felt very safe, and rested the next morning, so my Dog and I stayed for another day on the beach and another night gazing at the stars. You can guarantee that I will be returning very soon.

park review stars; one to five I would like to commend the park Rangers at Fort Sumner Lake. They were willing to answer questions, friendly and professional officers. I have seen Rangers that seem to not really want to talk to the public. These guys even come around the next morning and hauled off our trash when we were packing up. Professional officers. Thanks guys for being great officers. Stay safe!
