Very Quite Park - Very nice and quiet park. Very nice to have a boat ramp close to the campgrounds. Only suggestion we would have is to trim back some of the trees on the road to the campground and through the campground road - we have a Class A and made contact quite a few times traveling through - other then that - very nice park.

Park gates closed 3/16/2020 - Im interested to know why the parks gates are closed . We walk there ALL the time Today we couldnt get in to park please let me know why you are keeping people out of the park dont tell me its because of Corvid-19 closings . . No chance of getting it in the open air with no one around Thanks

A place worth restoring - The FRIENDS of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park are an active committee of the Community Environmental Council of Macon Co who are working to restore this site to exemplify the historical significance it deserves. Little known, but the first home of Abraham Lincoln in Macon Co, it includes a scenic bluff overlooking the Sangamon River.
