Outstanding experience - Take it from these two complete two camping newbiesthis park has completely sold us on the experience based on its locale, its serenity, its lake location, and its amazing staff If youre looking for a spot to try, give Baker Creek a glance the park host couple is completely amazing, especially if you are new and clueless. WARNING Jack Attack - I am writing to warn other trail riders about an incident that happened to me on 5/15/17 while riding the new trails that go by the Living History Farm. A jack got loose & tried to attack me & my horse. My little 5 year old TW mare ran off with me trying to escape the jaws of the jack. My 2 friends got off to control their horses but the jack kept chasing me & my mare. I was terrified & feel truly blessed that I did not end up in the hospital or dead. This animal should not be left at K.M.S.P.

Bestest - A wonderful place to relax and enjoy. Minutes away from Lancaster, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Charlotte where restaurants and shopping abound. Caring and concerned staff who always have their campers as their first concern.

- Great place for hunting and hiking. Only wish they would allow four wheelers in for hunting, then again that would take away from the experience.

- Well, one wld feel justified in thinking that when you check in and get your site, the employee wld THINK to mention: Bathrooms/showers completely closed, so you have to walk a half mile from that site. No. Driving, cold rain and high winds for days. No soap in the bathroom that is open. Over one year ago this same bathroom was closed for renovations, and still it is closed. Welcome to South Carolina, folks.

out standing! 5 Stars! - Whomever is taking care of this place needs a raise! I walked through geocaching and for the first time in a very long time I saw absolutely no trash at all! Anywhere! And nothing was broken or in disrepair. Awesome job he/she/they are doing.

Sad day at the park - When we visited we took a walk around the lake. At one end there were 2 overhead picnic table areas. Each was occupied by around 60 to 80 people. Loud rap music was blaring from each of the picnic areas like some sort of competition. There were restrooms nearby but apparently people preferred not to use them as the trails were littered with human feces and toilet paper. It was hot and humid and the smell was disgusting. The park could be nice and the people working there quite friendly. Its sad that people act like this in the parks. Wish they could appreciate nature and the sounds it makes.

Major history of South Carolina - My dad used to take us on to this park several times a year. It is a location rich in southern and American history. Well worth a visit. Take along a picnic lunch and good walking shoes.

Favorite National Wildlife Refuge - I never tire of visiting one of the most unique places in eastern S.C.. Whether you like to hike, fish, hunt, observe wildlife and wildflowers, plants, etc., SHWR is a wonderful place to visit. I always treasure my visits because I truly feel like I step back in time whenever I enter the refuge.

Poinsett St Park (equestrian trails) - The equestrian trails have always been a favorite of ours. We were told diturbing news tonight that the trails are no longer to be used by horses. If not horses what??? The message was that the campground is closed and horses are not welcomed. Is this true or did the Ranger relaying this info make a mistake? Mistake I hope.
