Mosquitos - Nice beach and biking trails nearby.. Mosquitos are terrible Glad we came before the rates went up from $57 to $80 for 30 amp/water sites and $95 for full hook ups.. These rates are more in line w/ private park pricing Will save the diesel and VRBO next trip.. Shame on you SC

bad roads - There are two circles of camp sites. To get to the wifi without a distance, you have to be in the new circle at the tackle shop. But phone service is good along the water in the older circle. The roads in the old circle are very, very bad. Been camping in a few states and the only place with noticeably bad roads have been South Carolina parks. I have only been to two SC parks and both had terrible roads. No need for speed bumps. The new section roads near the information center are very good. Looks like the older circle roads have been abandoned. The rest rooms are decently clean. And the lake location is very nice.

needs updating - the park was terrible with no drive through sites. some of the bathrooms were dirty,and very outdated . I have stayed at many parks,and I want go back to this one.

Bestest - A wonderful place to relax and enjoy. Minutes away from Lancaster, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and Charlotte where restaurants and shopping abound. Caring and concerned staff who always have their campers as their first concern.

- Great place for hunting and hiking. Only wish they would allow four wheelers in for hunting, then again that would take away from the experience.

out standing! 5 Stars! - Whomever is taking care of this place needs a raise! I walked through geocaching and for the first time in a very long time I saw absolutely no trash at all! Anywhere! And nothing was broken or in disrepair. Awesome job he/she/they are doing.

Major history of South Carolina - My dad used to take us on to this park several times a year. It is a location rich in southern and American history. Well worth a visit. Take along a picnic lunch and good walking shoes.

Favorite National Wildlife Refuge - I never tire of visiting one of the most unique places in eastern S.C.. Whether you like to hike, fish, hunt, observe wildlife and wildflowers, plants, etc., SHWR is a wonderful place to visit. I always treasure my visits because I truly feel like I step back in time whenever I enter the refuge.

Poinsett St Park (equestrian trails) - The equestrian trails have always been a favorite of ours. We were told diturbing news tonight that the trails are no longer to be used by horses. If not horses what??? The message was that the campground is closed and horses are not welcomed. Is this true or did the Ranger relaying this info make a mistake? Mistake I hope.
