labor day exploration - Stayed Sept 1-3. we would like to thank Mr. Ben Johnson for his hospitality help for making our labor day camping trip awesome. The place was full, no more campsite, but we got lucky to found 2 sites at overflow through him. We explored Cathedral Gorge that was amazing, hike it as well. Then went to check Lehman Cave as well, go check it out awesome place as well. The facility was very clean, flushing toilet yeah, showers even more yeah. Again thank you Mr Ben Johnson. Go check this place out the surrounding beauty of Northern Nevada
Disappointed - I was here back in 2005 before the flood damage and had,a chance to return in 2016 to find no Reservoir and everything being left go and overgrown. The only wildlife we saw was 3 snakes just a few feet onto a trail. This used to be a beautiful dam and great place to see birds.
Fishing Stillwater National Wildlife Ref - Its closed to fishing do to toxin, Why not open it to catch and release only. C.P.R. Catch, Photograph, and Release. Fishermen with a Nevada Fishing license, Should be able to fish waters that the Fish and wildlife Govern.
Should be ashamed of yourselves ! - You killed a 2 year old bear, because of the humans stupidity. It should have been tranquilized and moved from the area. We are in their natural habitat, they arent in ours...You are killers in my estimation .....
A Relaxing and Beautiful Area - I stayed here over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the park and camp ground. I caught my first fish in too many years and spent two days roughing it in a tent. I highly recommend this camp ground to anyone who desires a moment in nature with a tent and a fishing rod. Both thumbs up Spring Valley State Park / Eagle Valley!! Thanks you for an awesome weekend... =)
Solitude; very quiet; lots of trout - My wife and I fished for trout in the stream and got our limit in 2 hours. Nobody else was there. Clean campgrounds but lack of fresh water was a disappointment. The trail to the hot spring was nice but the springs were too small to soak in and only lukewarm. Otherwise a nice getaway.
LOVE YOU CAVE LAKE - Our Family loves loves loves Cave Lake. The Rangers are friendly. The camp sites are immaculate. The bathrooms are clean. The fishing is never disappointing. This is a once a year must for my family.
Amazing Place To See - I have been to Valley of Fire many times and I love this park. Some of the best pictures I have ever taken have been in Valley of Fire. The contrast of the dark red rock and the light green and brown desert and blue sky is like nothing else I have ever seen or photographed. I have been to many parks in CA, NV, AZ, UT - Valley Fire is one of the best.
